Capture scenic summer views on Princeton University’s campus with this workshop, focused on painting on location using watercolor. The program will begin with a tour of Great British Drawings from the Ashmolean Museum. Then, artist Anne Kullaf will provide a 45-minute outdoor watercolor painting demonstration before teaching the workshop. This workshop is free, and materials are not provided. A materials list will be sent upon registration. Registration is closed. Participants must be 16 and over. To be added to the wait list, contact Cara Bramson (cbramson@princeton.edu).

Watercolor is a highly expressive drawing medium that can capture movement and spontaneity like no other. In this workshop, participants will learn to use watercolor as a drawing medium in the field, to create vibrant monochromatic and limited palette drawings and field studies. Accurately capturing a sense of space through the use of perspective, proportion, form, and value will be demonstrated using a limited palette of colors and only one or two brushes. The resulting works will be energetic, fresh, and lively.
