Celebrate summer and the new special exhibition Great British Drawings from the Ashmolean Museum at our annual picnic on the lawn. Enjoy barbecue fare, live music, exhibition tours, and family-friendly activities, including the Great Princeton Bake Off. See details below on how to enter your dessert!

 

Don’t miss the English country dancing demonstrations from 6:45 to 7:15pm! Participants include Judith Rivkin, dance mistress; Michael Bell, violin; and John Burkhalter, English and small flutes.

 

In conjunction with the new special exhibition Transient Effects: The Solar Eclipses and Celestial Landscapes of Howard Russell Butler, Robert Vanderbei, professor of operations research and financial engineering in the Department of Astrophysical Sciences, will provide guests with an opportunity to see Jupiter in the daytime using a telescope and computer.

 

Stay until sunset for the last of our summer film screenings, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Cosponsored by the Princeton YMCA.

Judging will take place at the Museum's Picnic on the Lawn on Thursday, August 3, 2017. Please arrive by 6 p.m. to submit your entry to the judges. Each contestant should make one batch of their recipe. Our judges include pastry chefs from a variety of well-known Princeton bakeries, including Jen Carson of Lillipies, Jerry Luz, executive catering chef, Princeton University, and Anita Waldenberger, owner of Café Vienna.
