Collections
Founded in 1882, the Princeton University Art Museum is one of the leading university art museums in the country. From a founding gift of a collection of porcelain and pottery, the collections have grown to over 72,000 works of art that range from ancient to contemporary art and concentrate geographically on the Mediterranean regions, Western Europe, China, the United States, and Latin America.
Selections from the museum's collection are also available online. The museum is in the midst of a multi-yeared project to give global access to its collections. The museum is grateful to the Institute of Museum and Library Services for a Learning Opportunities Grant which has supported this project by allowing the museum to produce over 8300 images.
