The White Snake at McCarter Theatre | October 15 through November 3

An ancient Chinese story—girl meets boy and falls head over heels. The only problem is that the girl is a white serpent from the spirit world, and to win her love’s heart she must come down from the mountain and take human form. Visionary director Mary Zimmerman (Metamorphoses, The Odyssey) transforms McCarter’s stage with her sublime theater magic in this electrifying, radiant, and delightful play, adapted from a classic Chinese myth. Full of heart, this elegant and dazzling production promises an adventure for audiences of all ages, and a love story like you’ve never seen before. Adapted and Directed by Mary Zimmerman.
