Film Series: Girl Power

Join us for our sixth annual outdoor summer film series. Inspired by the pioneering women featured in the exhibition Women, Art, and Social Change: The Newcomb Pottery Enterprise, this year’s series celebrates women in film. The series features Salma Hayek’s nuanced performance as the artist Frida Kahlo in Julie Taymor’s Frida and Hailee Steinfeld as Mattie Ross, the determined teenager in search of her father’s murderer in the Coen brothers' True Grit. We end the summer with our picnic on the lawn, followed by the family favorite Brave, in which Princess Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse.

All films begin at sundown. In the event of rain, films will be shown at 8:00 p.m. in McCormick Hall 101.
