Pair of tigers, 1968

Princeton University, gift of Hugh Trumbull Adams, Class of 1935

Bruce Moore was a student of A.P. Proctor, the artist who created the tigers in front of Nassau Hall. While Proctor's tigers are naturalistically rendered, Moore's are larger, stylized representations. The tigers arrived on campus in the same year as Princeton's first female undergraduates and quickly became symbols of Princeton's co-education.
