Artist Conversation: Roberto Behar and Rosario Marquardt

The Princeton University Art Museum Student Advisory Board welcomes Roberto Behar and Rosario Marquardt, two of the designers and founders of R&R Studios. Born in Argentina, the Miami-based artists create artworks that perform as social sculptures and tools for the pursuit of happiness.

Princeton University commissioned R&R Studios to create three works of public art installed on campus this past summer. The series of so-called “social sculptures,” entitled The Home We Share (2022), has been permanently installed outside the University’s new Residential Colleges. Consisting of a playfully oversized concrete couch, a huge picnic table, brightly colored metal flowers, and more, the three spaces are designed to encourage socialization and to erase the boundaries between art and life.

Join a conversation with the artists moderated by Mitra Abbaspour, Haskell Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art. Introduced by Art Museum Director James Steward.
