The 3D animations describing the derivation of the Cuernavaca and Xochimilco geometries were created by Kieran Kelly-Sneed and Jennifer Anna Pazdon during the summer of 2008. Candela shaped the structures by cutting them from warped grid surfaces. Kieran and Jennifer used Candela's original drawings describing the final structural forms to ascertain the underlying hyperbolic paraboloid geometries from which the structures were cut. With this information, they created 3D drawings in Generative Components, a parametric 3D modeling software. They then animated these models using 3D Studio Max to illustrate Candela's design process.
