Beth Gollnick was appointed curatorial associate, photography and modern and contemporary art in 2019. Prior to joining the Museum, Beth was the Andrew W. Mellon Museum Research Consortium Fellow in the Department of Media and Performance Art at the Museum of Modern Art, where she was head researcher and a catalogue author for Judson Dance Theater: The Work is Never Done. She worked as research fellow on the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Oral History Project and was project assistant for Martha Rosler’s Meta-Monumental Garage Sale at MoMA. Beth received her M.A. and Ph.D. from Columbia University. Her dissertation, Diffusion: Women Light Artists in Postwar California, reframes the origins of the Los Angeles Light and Space movement through the early work of Mary Corse, Helen Pashgian, and Maria Nordman.
