8 p.m. | Virtual Trivia

Thursday, September 3, 2020 @ 8:00 pm

Enjoy game night from anywhere! Play in real time with our live host and web-based TriviaHub platform. You can play as an individual, with your household, or as a team with friends located around the world. This trivia experience will feature three rounds that test players’ knowledge in everything from history to pop culture to geography and more. It will also feature a round focused on the Art Museum’s collection.

Free registration for Trivia via Zoom here. (When prompted, click to sign in as an “attendee.”)

How to Play

  1. Register here. You will be emailed a Zoom meeting link as part of your registration. You can join using your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
  2. If you do not have the Zoom app installed on your device, it will instruct you to install it. The Zoom trivia room will open 15 minutes early, so feel welcome to join then to ensure that your device is configured and working.
  3. Your host will walk through some housekeeping items to explain how the event will be played. You can view a sample of those rules here.
  4. During the event you will play as a team. Please do not exceed five people per team. Your team can consist of yourself, members of your household, and/or others who are playing with you remotely. If playing as a remote team, you will need to communicate with your team members through another medium during game play (e.g., FaceTime, text messaging, instant messaging, etc.).
  5. When prompted, the host will provide you with a website link you will need to visit using your web browser. This website is where you will create your team name and submit answers for the game. You can see a sample of what the website looks like here.  If playing as a team with others, you will need to choose one person who will act as your captain and go to the website to submit answers on behalf of the team.
  6. You will first go to the website and enter your team name, as well as any team members you are playing with.
  7. Once all teams are registered, the host will start trivia play. They will present questions, and you will enter your answers in the website. At the end of each round, you’ll submit your answers to the host.
  8. After each round is completed, the host will review answers and announce the current scores and leaders.
  9. The host will tally final scores after the last round of trivia. If there is a tie, they will go into an optional tie-breaker round, in which the tied teams will compete in answering a numerical question. The team closest to the answer will break the tie and win.
  10. The winning team will be announced. If you are one of the winning teams, we will ask for your contact information to get your prizes to you.

This event will include live closed captions in both English and Spanish. English captions are available directly in the Zoom toolbar by clicking the "CC" icon. To access Spanish-language captioning, open Streamtext, where you can select “Spanish” to see the live captioning.

Para acceder a los subtítulos en varios idiomas, ingrese al seminario web de Zoom durante un evento en vivo, luego abra un navegador web separado para visitar esta página donde puede seleccionar "español" o el idioma de su elección.

LATE THURSDAYS! This event is part of the Museum’s Late Thursdays programming, made possible in part by Heather and Paul G. Haaga Jr., Class of 1970.

Spanish-language live closed-captioning for this program is made possible by the Rapid Response Magic Project of the Princeton University Humanities Council.
