Slow Down and Look

One of the highlights of visiting a museum is the opportunity to take your time and look closely at a work of art. Choose a work in the exhibition and slow down to consider these questions (or any other questions that come to your mind). The point is not to rush.

Once you choose an object, give yourself a minute or two just to look at it. (You might even time yourself.)

Start by asking yourself some formal questions about the work. These are questions that focus on what you see, not what you think the work means.
