Interpretation

The indeterminate state of glass, which is simultaneously solid and liquid, fascinates Horn, who draws attention to the materiality of this form as it reflects and refracts the natural light and space of the surrounding gallery. The sculpture’s combination of unpolished and polished surfaces evokes ephemeral light while also highlighting the seductive materiality of glass and its casting process. With the poetic title of this work, Horn suggests both a personal memory and a shared cinematic encounter.
