Laura Giles, Heather and Paul G. Haaga Jr., Class of 1970, Curator of Prints and Drawings, will discuss works by African American artists in the Princeton University Art Museum’s collections. This lecture is a prelude to the Princeton Symphony Orchestra’s October 6 concert, which features music inspired by the work of painter and printmaker Jacob Lawrence. Giles’s talk will provide the audience with a context for Lawrence’s groundbreaking work. Cosponsored by the Princeton Public Library, Princeton University Art Museum, and Princeton Symphony Orchestra.
