The Art Museum is partnering with the Arts Council of Princeton to provide free, live, online art-making experiences, to be held Thursday evenings at 8:00 p.m. These weekly drawing classes will be taught by artist-instructor Barbara DiLorenzo over Zoom. Participants can join live from their home computers; techniques will emphasize drawing with pencil and paper. Each week’s lesson will feature works from the Art Museum’s collections, and will relate to the Art Museum’s weekly online curatorial lecture.
On Thursday, April 16, the class will focus on drawing landscapes inspired by the Chinese paintings that Zoe Kwok, Associate Curator of Asian Art, will address in her lecture at 5:30 p.m. the same evening. Some of the images that will be covered: Eight Views of the Xiao and Xiang Rivers, Winter Evening Landscape, The Mind Landscape of Xie Youyu, and Landscape in the Style of Fan Kuan.
