What, if anything, can the body reveal about the self? Our identities have many visual components—the clothes we use to accentuate our physical self or the ways in which we style our hair or the gestures we perform over the course of a day. Led by Katherine Bussard, Peter C. Bunnell Curator of Photography, this workshop will explore photographs from the Art Museum’s collection as a way to delve into these themes. Students will have an opportunity for close looking with the printed photographs in a Firestone Library study room. From there we’ll use our own cameras to experiment with photographing ourselves and seeing what the results can—or cannot—say about us.
Open to Princeton University students only.
