Why Marilyn Monroe?

Taking place on the first Thursday evening of the fall semester each year, the Nassau Street Sampler is the official launch of the Museum’s Late Thursdays programming. The image of Marilyn Monroe comes from the screenprint Blue Marilyn by Pop artist Andy Warhol. Monroe famously said, “I’ve been on a calendar, but I’ve never been on time.” This quote inspired the use of the iconic image and the Late Thursdays tagline, “Be Late. Late Thursdays.”
