Winter Exhibitions Celebration

Art Museum
Saturday, February 15, 2014 @ 6:00 pm

This special evening will celebrate the Museum’s two major winter exhibitions, 500 Years of Italian Master Drawings from the Princeton University Art Museum and Edvard Munch: Symbolism in Print. We begin at 5 p.m. with a concert by the Princeton Singers titled Italia Mia. Join guest conductor Andrew Megill on a tour of the most important secular musical genre of Renaissance Italy—the madrigal—including its roots in folk music, its elegance and artistry in the hands of the era’s leading musicians, and its importance as a laboratory for experimentation that ultimately led to the creation of modern tonal music. After the concert, please join us in the Museum for an opportunity to view both exhibitions, to mingle with the musicians, and to enjoy a late winter’s eve in the company of great art and great friends.
