The Troupe of L'Avant-Scène will perform Jean Racine's masterpiece Phèdre, directed by Florent Masse, on Friday, February 7, and Saturday, February 8, at 8 pm in the Sterling Morton Gallery of the Princeton University Art Museum. Based on Euripides’s Hippolytus, Racine’s Phèdre reveals the devastating potential of love and the brutality of human nature. The production will feature advanced L’Avant-Scène students Kate Dreyfuss '14, Noe Chapolard '14, Tanyaradzwa Tawengwa '14, Simone Sasse '14, Igor Zabukovec GS, Marc Decitre '17, Jin Chow '17, and Noami Lake '17. This production will mark the seventh production of a classical play by L'Avant-Scène at the Art Museum. The performance is in French with an approximate running time of two hours.
