Friends of the Princeton University Art Museum are invited to attend the Annual Friends Meeting. Following the Meeting, don't miss the Mary Pitcairn Keating Annual Lecture by John Elderfield--the third and final lecture by the celebrated curator this Spring. The title of Elderfield's lecture is In and Out of the Studio: Paul Cézanne at the Lightning Field. A reception will follow in the Art Museum.
Elderfield is chief curator emeritus of painting and sculpture at The Museum of Modern Art, New York, where he organized landmark exhibitions on artists such as Édouard Manet, Henri Matisse, Kurt Schwitters, and Willem de Kooning. His recent and upcoming exhibitions include In the Studio: Paintings, on view at Gagosian Gallery in New York in spring 2015, and Paul Cézanne: Portraits, which will debut at the Musée d’Orsay, Paris, in 2017 before traveling to the National Portrait Gallery, London, and the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.
