Join the Princeton University Art Museum this spring for a special lecture series by John Elderfield on the occasion of his appointment as the Museum’s first Allen R. Adler, Class of 1967, Distinguished Curator and Lecturer. 

Elderfield is chief curator emeritus of painting and sculpture at The Museum of Modern Art, New York, where he organized landmark exhibitions on artists such as Édouard Manet, Henri Matisse, Kurt Schwitters, and Willem de Kooning. His recent and upcoming exhibitions include In the Studio: Paintings, on view at Gagosian Gallery in New York in spring 2015, and Paul Cézanne: Portraits, which will debut at the Musée d’Orsay, Paris, in 2017 before traveling to the National Portrait Gallery, London, and the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.
