Magazines

Magazines

Magazines are the privileged modernist medium for creating dialogues and crossings between image and text and for bold experimentations with typographic design. Magazines from Der Sturm to Dada represent a wide array of styles, movements, and ventures into typographical innovation. Their ephemerality and periodicity function as liberators and inspiration for many artists, while in many cases, and especially for the avant-garde, each issue is a collective creative endeavor dedicated to breaking print conventions and reading habits.
