Alexandra Foradas

Alexandra Foradas was appointed Haskell Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art in 2025, and oversees the Museum’s collection of artwork after 1945. Her research and curatorial interests include the relationships between museums and liveness, visual languages of systems of power, and technologies of knowledge transmission, including libraries, rituals, and the internet.

Foradas has organized and co-organized solo exhibitions by artists including Jimena Sarno (2025), Jason Moran (2022), EJ Hill (2022), Taryn Simon (2018, 2021), Jenny Holzer (2017, 2019), and Annie Lennox (2019, co-curated with Joseph Thompson), as well as the thematic exhibitions Like Magic (2023) and Deep Water (2022), among others. She is the editor of Osman Khan: Road to Hybridabad (MASS MoCA, 2025) and Kissing through a Curtain: Contemporary Artists on Translation (MASS MoCA, 2021), and is a contributor to EJ Hill: This Means Everything to Me (For the Birds Trapped in Airports & MASS MoCA, 2025). Her next project is an exhibition of work by the artist Marie Watt, focusing on the artist’s relationship to modernism and communication technologies.

Prior to joining the Museum, Foradas was Curator at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) and taught at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and Hunter College. She holds an MA from Williams College and a BA from Bowdoin College.
