Jun Nakamura

Jun P. Nakamura is the assistant curator of prints and drawings at the Princeton University Art Museum. A specialist in seventeenth-century Dutch art and the history of printmaking, Jun has curated exhibitions including Denilson Baniwa: Under the Skin of History (2024) at the Museum’s Art@Bainbridge gallery; Of God & Country: American Art from the Jill and Sheldon Bonovitz Collection (2023–24); Macho Men: Hypermasculinity in Dutch and American Prints (2022–23); Pictures in Pictures (2022); and Expressions (2021) at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Nakamura earned a PhD in art history from the University of Michigan, with a dissertation on the use and meaning of professional engraving style in the seventeenth-century Netherlands and beyond. He holds an MA in art history from Southern Methodist University and a BFA from Washington University in St. Louis. He is also—increasingly occasionally—a printmaker.
