Barbara Bosworth, artist
According to Toby Jurovics, [former] associate curator of photography... "Barbara Bosworth has created a body of work that speaks with a singular passion and sentiment for the American landscape ." Her photographs, which consider themes as diverse as the culture of tourist landscapes and the ways we use and occupy the landscape to extended series on hunters and hunting and national champion trees, are a personal exploration of the multilayered meanings and uses of the landscape. She has said of her work, "As a landscape photographer, I became interested not just in the terrain but in the ways we interact with the environment. I wanted to make photographs about being outdoors that reflected my own experience with nature."
