The Bride,

1956–61

Reg Butler, 1913–1981; born Buntingford, England; died Berkhamstead, England
y1969-127
Reg Butler worked on The Bride over a span of five years, in a tree-filled garden similar to the gothic courtyard in which the sculpture resides today. Butler's casting technique allowed him to capture minute details, resulting in the sculpture's tree-like textured surface.
