Torbjørn Rødland, Norwegian, born 1970
2009-39
This still life depicts stacked issues of Practical Photography, a magazine for hobbyists and amateurs that includes interviews, camera and editing tutorials, and tips on other tricks of the trade. By minimizing the complexity of the composition and using a shallow depth of field, Rødland has created a study of text and pattern that is also a self-reflexive meditation on the medium.
