Art Making l Drawing from the Collections: Protest Posters

The Art Museum is partnering with the Arts Council of Princeton to offer free, weekly, art-making classes taught by artist-instructor Barbara DiLorenzo over Zoom, so participants can join live from home. A variety of media and techniques will be explored using readily available materials. Each lesson features works from the Museum’s collections.
This week’s class is inspired by protest posters designed by the Guerrilla Girls, a collective of anonymous women artists whose work focuses on exposing gender and racial discrimination in the art world. Incisive, hilarious, and polemical, the Guerrilla Girls’ posters combine facts and arresting visuals. We will explore how fonts, colors, and layouts can help you create posters that capture people’s attention and make an impact in your community.
