Make your own amulet from paper, inspired by ancient objects in the Museum’s collections.

Amulets, charms, and talismans have captured the human imagination for millennia. These powerful, symbolic objects originated in some of the earliest human cultures and are still worn today as personal tokens that represent deeply held beliefs, milestones, memories, and protections. 

Explore the Museum’s collections for inspiration, then get hands-on in the Creativity Labs. Local artist and award-winning jewelry designer Trudy Borenstein-Sugiura will guide participants in using paper-jewelry techniques to create a symbolic amulet representing protection, identity, or meaning. Materials will be provided.
