Twin brothers and longtime collaborators Gert and Uwe Tobias have embraced and reinvigorated the tradition of woodblock printing, a medium with a distinguished history. Inspired by the patterning found in Transylvanian folk art and the geometric compositions of German and Russian Constructivism, the brothers’ monumental woodcut prints are at once decorative and architectural.
