Domingo de Aguirre completed a series of watercolors of the royal palace at Aranjuez, which were later engraved by artists at the Real Academia in Madrid. This drawing was attributed to Pablo Minguet (active 1737-1753) and then later to Juan Minguet (1737-ca. 1804) as Pablo's work demonstrates his skill with printing techniques and Juan worked on a series of engravings after drawings by de Aguirre, however, neither Minguet was known for architectural drawings, such as the subject of this sheet. The composition of this sheet resembles a print created after a drawing by de Aguirre, which shows the palace from a similar angle.
