Widely televised, the events of the Democratic National Convention were remarkable not only for the violence exercised by police officers but also for the violence directed at members of the press. McDarrah documented the moment when the <em>New York Times</em> photographer<br>Barton Silverman was forcibly detained following his own documentation of police arresting demonstrators.
