According to the inscription on verso, the drawing was a gift of the artist to Leon Kelly in 1941; gift of the artist’s wife Hellen Lloyd Kelly to Norman Muller
According to Norman Muller, the works were given to him by his former mother-in-law, Helen Lloyd Kelly, the third wife of Earl Horter from 1930 – 37. Following her divorce from Horter in 1937, Helen then married to the artist Leon Kelly. Together they had a daughter named Paula Kelly, who was Norman’s first wife.
