Sleeping Nymph
Information
In 1981, Jennifer Montagu recognized this as a copy after Giambologna's small bronze, Sleeping Nymph. The drawing has simplified the details of the sculpture and uses a heavy outline and subtle shading, making the drawing's nationality difficult to ascertain. The artist may have been from north of the Alps.
