Description
Hanging scroll composed of overlapping small sheets of paper. Kannon seated on lotus, frontal, legs crossed. Ten small heads arranged above and to either side of a large one. One pair of hands held in front of body; second pair extended, right holding a string of beads, left holding a pot. Preparatory drawing for a painting of Avalokitasvara (Kannon), the Bodhisatva of Mercy, on his way to divinity.
