This sheet was attributed to an unknown Spanish artist in the Record of the Art Museum, Princeton University (v.62, 2003, p. 115) and attributed to Antonio del Castillo (1616-1668) on the accession card, but Priscilla Muller rejected that attibution in May 2007 in a conversation with Lisa A. Banner. It is possible that this drawing is Portuguese as the red chalk styles is similar to that of Francisco Vieira, also known as, Vieira Lusitano (1699-1783).
