六十七翁睡庵紀選
During the sixth lunar month of the year 1845, while staying in the Sekizan Meditation Center, I did this scroll for Keido Shonin. At that time the weather was hot as fire, so, rising at dawn, I opened a window and together with Shonin brewed tea. Facing this view all day, how could one long scroll so that in the future, each time Shonin unrolls the scroll, he will have the great pleasure of another laugh. Suian Kisen睡庵紀選 [i.e., Shunkin] at the age of sixty-six (67 年).
