Playfully suggesting that Chinese characters are ideograms (symbols that express ideas rather than specific words) originating in nature, Cui Fei arranged phototransfers of grape tendrils in the form of columnar calligraphic compositions. According to the artist, she "took inspiration from Chinese characters to explore the relationship between nature and culture."
