Top tile: 地節二年五月造 “Made in the 5th month of the 2nd year (68 B.C.) of the Dijie reign.” Middle tile: 地節二年 “Second year (68 B.C.) of the Dijie reign.” Bottom tile: 大魏正光元年二月廿日比丘尼造像區 “On the 20th day, 2nd month, first year (A.D. 520) of the Zhengguang reign of the Great Wei, a nun made this Buddha image. Notes 1. The two Han dynasty tiles may come from Sichuan province. The Sichuan area was not in the control of the Northern Wei, so the bottom tile may come from a different region.
