Description
Representation of God of Longevity (Shouxing 壽星) as a stout, bearded old man with a high brow. His robes are outlined in broad graphic lines in contrast the fine lines used for his facial features. The pictorial stone this rubbing was taken from was engraved in 1868 recarving after an earlier engraving that purportedly traces back to a Song dynasty model with a 1095 inscription signed Su Shi.
