Description
Plaque with floral decoration. The following motifs are discernable, set in translucent blue ground: three yellow tulip-like flowers with yellow stems and two pairs of lanceolate gray leaves, the stems emerging from a discoid element made of concentric gray, yellow, and red circles. The flowers probably originally were flanked by two yellow-in-white flower clusters resembling grapes. A second, identical discoid element is partly preserved at lower right. Seemingly unconnected to the main composition is a white-petaled flower with yellow stamens, partly preserved at the right edge of the plaque.
Materials

Probably purchased by Frank Jewett Mather Jr. in Rome; either purchased by or given to the Museum by at least 1931
