Round, 4.2 cm. diam. pale gold Mao head floating just above center against a plain vermillion gournd. Scene at bottom edge extends beyond circumference of badge; overlapping triangular mountains at right, connects with a curved flame on a torch (?) at the left edge. Back: head-shaped indentation with the character “忠” inside it; inscription at bottom edge is crooked, looks like t runs off the edge by accident: “廹 (?) 研院”.
