The complete album of "Searching for Steles in Tai and Dai Mountains" is in the Pang Xuzhai (Pang Yuanji 龐元濟, 1864-1949) collection, and these are six leaves of the draft version. Although ink is used sparingly [in the pictures], they otherwise convey an abundant sense of antiquity. The pleasure of enjoying [this fine work of art] is truly endless. The album is comparable to the Debei tu ("Obtaining Stele") album in my collection, and I hope those who recognize [the quality of these fine paintings] will treasure it. Viewd and noted by Beiming in late autumn of the yihai year (1935) in the Xiangluan (auspicious bird) Pavilion in the Old Capital (i.e., Beijing).
