Prussia’s quick victory in the Franco-Prussian War was due primarily to its military training, the development of elaborate railway systems to quickly mobilize troops, and the vast superiority of modern forged-steel artillery manufactured by the Essen-based company Frederich Krupp AG, by 1870 the largest industrial concern in Europe.
