SEDENTARINESS
We pay no heed to provincial psalmody swelling through the streets as they promised us, and we do not know how to grasp it or whether it might do us harm. You understand what surpasses our understanding.
On our brow sweat does not bead even though mischance has befallen us. To your mind it brings a multitude of processions. We do not feel the least curiosity about the yards, the roofs, and the attics nearby nor do we shudder at the extravagant pealing of the church bells which stirs the air as far as here. You are replete with feeling.
We do not remember: if our last deeds tally, it means our sight is true and the logic needed no correction. A predestination as in a mystery cult hovers over the towns and you give us to understand the clew of the thread whence we hang shall be as strong as it shall be.

Nosaltres no prestem atenció a la salmodia provinciana que s'esten pels carrers com ens havien promes, i no sabem com hem de prendre'ns-ho o si ens podria fer cap ma!. Vosaltres compreneu el que ens es incomprensible.
A nosaltres no ens ve la suor al front i aixo que els contratemps ja estan servits. A vosaltres us fa pensar en desenes de processons. Nosaltres no sentim ni tan sols curiositat pels patis, els terrats i les golfes de la vora ni esgarrifances per I'exagerat repic de !es campanes de I'eglésia que transporta un cop d 'aire fins aquí. Vosaltres esteu plens de sentiment.
Nosaltres no ens en recordem: si encaixen els ultims fets vol dir que ho veiem clar, que no calia corregir la logica. Una predestinació misterica plana sabre les viles i vosaltres doneu a entendre que la clau dels fils dels quals pengem sera que siguin forts.
