Panel: Writing About Willem de Kooning

Mark Stevens, coauthor of the Pulitzer Prize–winning biography De Kooning: An American Master (2004, coauthor: Annalyn Swan), and Stephen Mack, project manager of a forthcoming de Kooning catalogue raisonné, offer two different approaches to chronicling de Kooning’s life and work in the pivotal years surrounding the artist’s first solo exhibition.
