Signatures
signed "Wang Feng" and "Huang Tian"; formerly incorrectly identified in Museum files as Huang Shen (Qing dyn., native of Fukien province). Thanks to Sun Zhixin for the correction (Oct. 1992). Also correctly identified in Nakata and Fu, Masterpieces (see below), vol. 4.
Inscription
Text: Wang Feng: 7-character (qi lu) poem in 8 lines Huang Tian: Calligraphy in 3 lines, written on the same leaf with Wang Feng’s colophon. Both are colophons to Zhao Mengfu’s Tianma tu (Heavenly horse) painting (unidentified). Colophons: Luo Tianchi (jinshi degree 1826), signed “Shenghu,” undated. 3 columns written on the leaf’s left border.
