Typed note: Lost on Ville du Havre (shipwreck, 1873). Left in will $20,000 to erect building for Philadelphia Society (Murray Hall).;

Location history: 1950, set in wall over fireplace in Murray Dodge, Peking Room, but covered with plywood panel so that it is not visible. Prof. Welch had this done because ti distracted students when he was lecturing – F.D.T.;
