Saturdays are for young makers in the Creativity Labs! Capture the feeling of the weather, inspired by artist Childe Hassam.

Drop in anytime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to explore a work of art, play with different materials, and exercise your imagination. Come for fifteen minutes or two hours—whatever your schedule allows. All ages are welcome; no tickets or reservations required.

Childe Hassam often looked out his studio window to the streets of New York City for inspiration. In Rainy Day Fifth Avenue (1916), he captured the weather so beautifully that you can almost feel the rain drops and can imagine jumping in the puddles. For this activity, you’ll create your own winter-scape—can you capture the feeling of the cold, the snow, the sunshine? We provide the materials, you bring the creativity!
