David Stuart, leading scholar of the ancient Maya, shares insights from his expansive new book.
Historian and archaeologist David Stuart ’89 will discuss his new publication, The Four Heavens: A New History of the Ancient Maya (Princeton University Press, 2026), tracing the collapses and rebirths of Maya civilization across nearly 3,000 years. The event begins at 4 p.m. with Stuart and curator Joanne Baron in the Art of the Ancient Americas Gallery. At 5 p.m. in the Grand Hall, Stuart will deliver a lecture followed by a Q&A and book signing. Cosponsored by the Department of Religion and the Center for Culture, Society, and Religion.
