Inscribed: In the eighth month of the ninth year [1744] in the Ch’ien-lung reign, the servitor Lang Shih-ning [i.e., Guiseppe Castiglione] received the imperial order and respectfully painted this. [spurious]
Bottom seal, with gold square relief: Lang Shih-ning [spurious]
Description
Painted enamel hunting scene of dog and boar in a landscape on outside; inscribed "In the eighth month of the ninth year [1744] in the Qianlong reign, your servitor Lang Shining received the imperial order and respectfully painted this" 乾隆九年八月臣郎世寧敕敬繪. Dragon design on inner surface (one bowl has a slight flaw in the design). Square relief seal in gold enamel on the bottom, reads: "Lang Shin-ning."
